  • Ten things dance lessons taught me about life

    1. It's gonna hurt like a bitch, but if you just keep at it, the pain will eventually go away and it will get a whole lot easier.
    2. Falling is a fact. You are going to fall, no matter how much rosin you put on your shoes. Just pick yourself up, go on, and forget about it.
    3. Sometimes it's better to dance to your own beat than to keep in perfect time with the others.
    4. You have to make sacrifices in order to get the effect you want, like pretty feet for perfect dance.
    5. Our knees are the part of our body that we use and abuse the most, so it's nice to rest them every once in a while.
    6. A pas de deux {dance of two, or male/female duet} isn't as spectacular as a solo.
    7. Practice doesn't make perfect, but it comes damn near close.
    8. It's not about your pretty face or your flawless hair- it's about the way you present yourself to the world around you using your attitude and skill.
    9. It's not about getting up there and being the best dancer on the stage. It's about getting up there and being the best dancer you can be on stage.
    10. Sometimes, words don't have to be used to get a point across.
